Jul. 14, 2017, Federal court rules lawsuit challenging California curriculum's unconstitutional denigration of Hinduism will move forward   www.capeem.org/pressroom.php?item0=1

3/15/2017 ESHA joined Coalition for Religious Literacy to improve education
and understanding of minority faiths in USA. ESHA Condemns CNN's provocative
and misleading show Believer as it creates misunderstanding about India and Hinduism.
It will increase Hinduphobia - bullying of Hindu kids in schools, racial hatred
and discrimination and attacks on Hindus. The reckless portrayal of Hinduism,
classification of Varanasi as the 'Land of the Dead' and Ganges as a "Giant Toilet"
will only aggravate negative perception of India and impact Tourism to our holy places.

Feb 8, 2017  ESHA supports CAPEEM, a Hindu-American advocacy organization as it filed a lawsuit in federal court against California Department of Education and several school districts throughout San Francisco Bay Area. The case challenges the discriminatory treatment of Hinduism in California's history-social science curriculum and the endorsement of other religions.      http://www.capeem.org/pressroom.php?item0=1

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday asked the world leaders to adopt an International Yoga Day, saying that by changing lifestyle and creating consciousness, it can help us deal with climate change.

“Let us work towards adopting an International Yoga Day,” Modi said in his maiden address to the 193-member UN General Assembly in United Nations.

Noting that Yoga is “an invaluable gift of our ancient tradition”, he said: “It is not about exercise but to discover the sense of oneness with yourself, the world and the nature.”

Yoga is the 5,000-year-old Indian physical, mental and spiritual practice that aim to transform body and mind.

“Yoga embodies unity of mind and body; thought and action; restraint and fulfillment; harmony between man and nature; a holistic approach to health and well being,” he said.

“By changing our lifestyle and creating consciousness, it can help us deal with climate change,” he added.
