Caste System - School textbooks reiterate the stereotype
"Varna is commonly, and wrongly, translated as caste. For someone who has a superficial understanding of the Vedas, it is easy to interpret this [Purusha Sukta hymn of the Rigveda (10.90)] hymn as sanctioning caste. But, the texts insist that varna is a state of the mind."

Here, I will only remark that ... the Aryan invasions of the second millenium BC are still treated as if they were established fact of history. ... the Aryan invasion never happened at all"
    - Prof. Edmund Leach of Cambridge University, Article - "Aryan Invasion over Four Millenia", Book     "Culture Through Time: Anthropological Approaches"

"There is now ample evidence to show that Muller, and those who followed him, were wrong. ... The theory was not just wrong, it included unacceptably racist ideas: ..."
